Ladder 1, Glenn 0

As if renovating isn't hard enough, Glenn had to attempt a Cirque du Soleil while taking a picture on top of a ladder. The death-defying move went well until the ladder decided to swing its front legs out to one side and Glenn and ladder all came tumbling down into a heap. Liza was our star witness, caught between shocked fright and side-splitting guffaws.

When I arrived on the scene Glenn's hand looked like a Mickey Mouse glove on the end of his stick arm. It wasn't looking good. The hospital, St. Joes, took him right away and said the bone was broken. His sentence: 6 weeks in a cast. That wasn't in our renovating schedule. Nonetheless, Glenn dug in almost right away and was soon doing whatever tasks he could. By the end of the first 4 weeks you could barely see all the signatures and artwork for the reno dust on that threadbare cast. He returned to St. Joes for a new cast and requested a lighter version so that work was easier but someone there had their wits about them and put on an even heavier cast. That second cast comes off in about 1 week and Glenn will once again be a free man tho with one much skinnier, weaker and whiter arm.

  1. I love the humour! If the pictures are any indication, you are well on your way to a full recovery, Glenn. Congratulations! We eagerly anticipate your grand opening (with lemonade withdrawal symptoms I might add!).
